Get the identifiers before searching
Ask the seller for the correct tehsil, village or mohalla, plot or gata number, area and registered deed details. A marketing name or WhatsApp map pin is not enough to match a record. Shahjahanpur city and the district's other towns and villages may belong to different tehsils, so do not search only the first location in the dropdown.
Open the department's list
From igrsup.gov.in, find 'निषिद्ध सम्पत्ति की खोज' or open the department's 'निषेधित संपत्तियाँ' page. Select Shahjahanpur as district, then the tehsil that actually contains the parcel, and choose 'विवरण देखें' (view details). Note the search date and the exact options selected. If the page fails to load, try the official site again or ask the relevant sub-registrar office rather than relying on a copied list.
Treat a possible match as a question
Compare every visible identifier in a possible entry with the deed and the property offered. Similar owner names, villages or plot numbers can refer to different land. If an entry may match, take its details and the seller's papers to the appropriate sub-registrar office. Ask what record caused the entry, whether it is current and what, if anything, the office requires before registration. Obtain the answer in writing where possible.
Understand a blank result
A blank list or no apparent match is only the result of that search at that time. It does not confirm ownership, boundaries, lack of a loan, planning approval or that every restriction is absent. The department itself advises buyers to check the seller's identity and ownership and to verify website data against documents finally issued by the responsible officers.
Keep the checks together
Put the list result beside the registered-deed trail, any rural khatauni and map, and the physical site. For a rural gata, also check the separate UP Bhulekh government-land and land-category services; they answer a different question from IGRSUP's prohibited-property list. Resolve conflicting parcel numbers or an unexplained restriction with the responsible office and an independent professional before committing money.
Next step
Saaf Pata can collect the seller's exact Shahjahanpur parcel identifiers for a buyer's search. The buyer should run the current official check and seek the registration office's answer for any possible match; Saaf Pata cannot clear an entry.
